a self portrait of a child | 2014
this is my first assembled sculpture and a quite the physical object. while working on it the head fell down a few times. he didn’t lose any of his skull, it’s visible repaired. I don’t rack my brain about it, everything that happens leaves marks, the question is how to deal with it.
for me personally it’s about the silent age, the pre-linguistic time, pronounced [eɪdʒ] and also about the ‘H’ as the unvoiced tone at the beginning of a word, so pronounced [eɪtʃ]. as an inventory it’s about a moment as the breathed sound was faded away and all had stoped. there is no single word about it maybe because at that time was not learned any words yet. but as the sculpture I worked on it is gaugeable and quantifiable: 77,5 x 30 x 22 cm. everything else are just associations or reflexes.
